Gerry. think we may be misunderstanding each other here and apologise if I am telling you something you already know..

When a 75 is started the cars ECU checks the battery voltage and if it deems that there is not enough power it prevents the car from starting giving the symptoms that you have. You dont get the dimming lights bit cos there is still enough juice to light them and the starter motor has been prevented from turning.

However the car does tell you of this fact by pulsing the head lights on and off even though the main light switch is off. This I think may be the beep you hearing.

David the lights do not change there is no attempt for the engine to turn over whatsoever the only sound is the beeps and the IPK lights flashing which I have never had before with a flat battery and as said the battery reading is full when a tester is put on it. Also as far as I know the auto box inhibitor switch does not cause beeping and flashing lights on the IPK

it is deff the battery .. have you tried to jump start the car ? bet it starts ..... ,the battery may well give a full reading ,but when the current is drawn from the battery to turn to car over it will only be around 7 ,not enough.... try to jump start it ,if it starts you iwll know that its the battery ......... plus its a no cost attempt

Don't believe in jump starting autos chrissyboy they definitely do not like it, however to satisfy everybody will get jump leads on but as I say the starter motor does not even click and why the flashing lights on the IPK etc never ever had them before.

the flickering dash lights are due to the current being so low .

sounds like a flat battery or one with not enouth amps to fire it up if its an imobaliser it says disabled on the display i have seen both with mine lol.

if the battery is ok check the earth to the gearbox as it could have come loose and is causing a voltage drop when its attempted to start.

to add as well if its the imobaliser it says disbled and wont turn or beep or flash lights etc.

also could the plenan drains be blocked and it has a flooded ecu causing the fault

Thanks Craig 861 could not find anything about immobiliser notification anywhere which was why I was baffled by the lights and beeper as never had them before , battery is on charge to make sure , neighbour wil lhave his jump leads tomorrow and if it does not start then will check earth and ECU although Plenums are bone dry.
