A leak most definately I would say..... I understand the most likely is the Thermostat between the cylinder banks. I pressume you have a 2.0 V6? I have the same and I can't remember the last time I had to put in water, or oil come to think of it!

If you have a 1.8 it could be the Head Gasket.... Do a search on HGF here.

Cheers, Bill.

Or perhaps you are overfilling. How much are you putting in each week ??

this is a good point, i did this with mine when first got it, the water level sits very low on my 190 and apparently its perfectly normal. If over filled upto maximum it seems to self level is self out and drain any excess water out via pipe under car

FORGET THE ABOVE THEN - YOU HAVE A LEAK!

Thermosatat under the inlet manifold in the V of the engine are week spots on the V6, as are the steel coolant pipes down by the subframe. Looks like my V6 has an interanl leak, which is rare, but not rare enough.

Best to have the undertray off to look for anything obvious first IMHO.

Hope you get it sorted.
