WANTED URGENTLY: scrap V6 thermostat insert
**NOW OBTAINED**
As titled, it's the actual OEM thermostat itself that I need, that is the metal inserted inside the plastic housing. I only need it so to copy and hopefully transfer the by-pass ball valve onto the thermostat that I hope to fit into a metal Kaiser housing. Therefore a defunct thermostat insert will be ideal, if not then I can use a insert that was working perfectly, but it'll probably be damaged once I've finished with it (probably doesn't matter anyway as you can't refit the OEM insert back into the housing, as the latter must be destroyed to access the insert). Anybody got an old one lying about that is available please? Regards, Bolin. **NOW OBTAINED** Last edited by Bolin; 14th August 2012 at 14:42.. |

Got a couple of inserts doing nothing on my desk at the moment left over from my playing with the Kaiser one a year or so ago.
If you care to PM me your address I can pop one in the post. Am stll using the Kaiser suppled housing and insert and no problems. Blocked the original by pass with rivet and had another 1mm hole drilled. Works reasonably well. Bit slower than standard to warm to full temp that being now 90/92c.. On longer runs the temp will gradually rise to 95c. |

PM sent, many thanks. I'm hoping that the 88 degrees thermostat in Kaiser's housing will give the same warm-up time as the OEM set-up, just need to mimic the by-pass.
