Europarts say 027 battery at 60ah not 55 and am sure the 4yr g/tee Bosch battery fitted to mine is 60 amps.

I've looked up your 027 on my Lucas chart and it's not far off the recommended spec.
Simon.

This happened to me on my much missed 75 - turned out it was the boot light. I disconnected it it and had the new battery for 8 problem free years. Still in perfect health when last seen.

with a 30 min journey it is still possible it isnt enough to put back all the charge you used to start the car run the car with lights heater and radio wipers .

Battery problems
It sounds to me like the battery is only being surface charged , it will require a charge of 5amps for approx 24hrs , let it stand for a while then have the battery checked properly , i dont think those discharge boxes are very good for loading the battery , the two prong type are not health and safety friendly but in my opinion work better . If you have the alternator tested , make sure they do an amp test , as i have seen the correct regulating voltage , but no ampage , also check the battery leads for cleanliness as they can cause a bad connection and effect the charging .

My battery would work ok one day and then be flat the next. The first time I blamed the boot light. I put the battery charger on it and all seemed ok. Then it did it again and the charger flased up an error code and would not charge it.
It was 4 years old but I think a plate inside had moved and shorted Put a new one on and so far so good. Halfords list a 075 type for my V6 which is 61Ah 600A. I decided to fit the optional larger type which is a 096 77Ah 780A. My car was dead so had to pay Halfords prices which was only about £20 more than online sites for a Bosch Silver. Ed.
