Default Programming memory seats to keys

Now I have memory on my drivers seat (thanks to Jake, who worked like a Trojan to sort this for me - see here, I'm wondering if it's possible to tie the memory positions up to my two keys ("Lazy Seats")

Does this need a T4 session? If not, how is it done?

I don't think it's a T4 jobby, but I could be wrong. May be the Body Control Unit needs to be updated though?

Any how, the procedure to do it (if it is ready to go) I've just posted up on this thread

Best of luck Dave

Here's a weird thing..... I was just reading that thread and noticed what you had posted, and was just about to reply with a link back to this thread! Only thing was, when I searched for this thread to link to, I couldn't find it.... My guess is that I thought I'd posted earlier, but had done "Preview" and forgotten to "Submit", so the post didn't exist, which meant I had to re-do it!

In a roundabout way I guess I am saying "thank you" for your reply here and also for inadvertently alerting me to my non-post! (I wondered why I was being ingored.... )

Oh, and.....

Done the seat button memory position thing, but even with re-reading, not sure how to apply this to the fobs? I'm guessing that unless the car came originally spec'd with a memory seat, then the keys will not "know" it's there?

How would you update the BCU without a T4 session?

Any extra info that anyone can give would be much appreciated, as, now I know that this might be possible, it will become an obsession!

Doesnt need applying to fob. Fobs are automatically fobs 1 and 2. Once seat set up with positions in memory mem position one works with key one and so on.

Remember to activate the seat position change a press and hold is required at the fob.

Also remember that if you have two keys only mem positions 1 and 2 can be used for the key adjust. Not sure what would happen if you had three keys though Presumeably mem 3 would operate with the third key.

OK!

In that case, something is not working as it should be....

Put memory 1 and memory 2 into two radically different (and unusable!) positions, so it would be obvious if the seat was reacting to long key presses - and it's not....

Just a point is your car a facelift?

If it is there isn't a facility for memory seat from the fob's as the long press is now used to open the boot.

Just a thought.

No, it's an 03 pre-facelift (and is a Tourer, so has no boot or a boot tailgate switch....) Still confused....

Having stored positions in mems 1 and 2 does the seat react when you press the seat mems buttons ?
