Wow!
This brings back memories! Mainly of trying to get those damn rocker covers to stop leaking oil!!

I used to make the bumpers for these back in the 80's.

They'd ditched the talking dash by the time this one came along.
I think this is quite charming in its own way and reminds me of the E-reg Maestro 1.3L I had. All told mine was a bit of a rusty shed despite being less than 3 years old when I got it, but it was cheaper than the competition and I fell for the sunroof, 2-tone paint and red stripes inside and out.

My brother in law used to have an MG Maestro, an early one 1.6 twin carb!
That had a talking dashboard.

I really like that one. Strictly shows and weekends only. Used to work for a bank that would hire Maestros and Montegos for us to go visit customers. On the back of that I bought a Montego 2.0Si (E758XMR)which was a real rocket ship.
I just don’t have covered storage and can I justify the price? No.

Iremember Ihad one of these in red....I really like the the car.....brings back a lot of memories........
Dealing with the electric choke and the fact it would cut out after starring on cold mornings.... Still I really liked the car.... Also is it just me but Ithough the cars in the background lookeed like police cars..with the blue and white signs on the roof.

As a point of interest the Topper sailing boat was made on the same presses as the Maestro (LM10) Montego (LM11) and 800 (LMX) bumpers and Tomorrows World did a piece on it.
