Default Bought some Wheels on eBay - should I be concerned?

Does anyone know of or dealt with eBay seller pab17964 I've just won some wheels off him on eBay but hes refusing to give me his address details unless I pay first even though I'm supposed to be collecting them in person.

Just after auction closed I sent him an eBay message

Quote:
Hi there

I've just won the rover wheels and wonder if you can give me your address including postcode so I can check how to get there on my satnav.

Also, what the best days/time for you?
and he replied with:

Quote:
Hi

If you make the payment I will then give you my details,it's for security.
To try and put his mind at rest I offered to pay a £25 deposit by paypal (confirmed address) and bring the balance with cash and I've since sent my contact details including landline no. but got this reply...

Quote:
Hi,

As soon as you make full payment by Paypal you can pick the wheels up
I'm a bit concerned now that I'm expected to send £175 to someone who I don't even have an address for and hasn't told me when I can come to get. Even if I get an address Ill have to make a 150 mile round trip expecting to trust the that wheels have been described properly. Whenever Ive dealt with people before I've always paid a deposit so they know I'm serious then give them the balance upon collection so its secure from both sides.

Just seems odd that he doesn't want the balance in cash. Its making me wonder if there's a reason he thinks I'm going to walk away without buying them. Or am I being paranoid?

What did the listing say, If it said full payment on end of action then that is probably why?

What is the fedback like on the rest of their sales etc?

Many people are protecting themselves in this way, who knows who is going to turn up at your door. Not saying your a crazy at all though Jeff

Wink

I would have preferred to do this by email and not have this posted up on the general forum.

If you have a proposition on how to make payment then do it in this manner.

Ah thats sounds reassuring.

Just was worried that Ill pay up front not knowing his address or when I can collect for them to disappear or arrive to find the wheels look nothing like the ones in the pic.

These are the ones Ive bought...

Ill send him a PM and check
