Flat battery and broken key double whammy
My wife's Rover 75 Connoisseur 2.0 automatic found itself with a totally flat battery after many weeks without use. Connecting the charger prompted the alarm to sound, so I removed the battery to charge, but with the same result when re-connected. At the same time, the car key casing is broken, there is no key battery or ability for the key to become operable. She would normally lock/unlock via the keyhole. Hence I could not operate the key fob in order to help with the alarm sounding problem.
Help would be much appreciated. |

Once the battery is charged, reconnect battery then turn on the ignition, that should turn the alarm off.

It is ALWAYS best with the R75 to have two good keys. Having less you can end up with lots of problems.
( Plus expenses. ) Your battery. Charge for at least 30 hours. You might just get away with saving it.--- |

Key problem
Hi Mick and to the club.
If you're DIY-minded replacement cases are available for your key but there are a lot of poor quality reproductions about. If you're interested I can advise on what to look for. What do you mean that there's no key battery? Simon
