Default 75 Tourer Diesel Auto - Jumpy Gears

Hi all

Our Typhoon 75 has been parked up for around 6 months and we have just put it back on the road for daily use.

However it has developed an intermittent fault between gears 1, 2 and 3 where it jolts into the next gear when accelerating and jolts back down when coming to a stop.

I have read that it is usually the 2/4 brake duty solenoid that causes this but this error has only occurred 3 times out of 12 trips.

I was thinking that if the solenoid has gone, that's it. It doesn't come back therefore not an intermittent fault.

Anything else it could be or just lack of use and it may well just go away? There are no errors on the dashboard.

Cheers
Robson

Strange how it's only intermittent though?

Default Worth checking..

Also worth checking the rear engine mount. If failed it can give similar symptoms. Much easier job....

However as Trikey says it is not too difficult to change one of the solenoids if it is the solenoids. Info on here to check resistances on them so you know which one

Had similar thing happen to me a while ago when I'd been away for a month hidY overseas and the car had been standing
.
It did it until it warmed up but each day got a little better .
I put it down to a sticking solenoid, changed the trans oil and never had the issue again
