V6 coolant pipe alternatives
Currently Rimmers are discounting PEP000200 coolant pipes including the steel pipes under the radiator. However these are for late cars after car number 235721. How different are these from earlier models and /or can they be made to fit with minimal modifications, if so what?
Please advise ASAP as need to order tomoroow, Thursday, latest. |

Hi Mike,
The two designs are completely different. The oil cooler flow and return were changed to a different place in the circuit so the later type are unsuitable for early cars. Simon

Thank you Simon. I'll just restrict my order to new calipers and a few other bits. (The wife is driving close so can collect) |

Is your coolant pipe rusty then Mike? Mine looked like it was so I had it media blasted to find out. Turns out it was perfectly ok under the surface, so no need to buy the £177 PP102532SS.
The hoses are ridiculously expensive, £128.40 just for the three short & fat ones #2, 3 & 4 on GRID001584. Add another £153.60 for the longer but slimmer #7, 9, 6 & 8. That's £282 for seven hoses! |

Agreed but surely only of academic interest. My 75 is now 21 years old and the original coolant hoses are fine. My SD1 only needed one replacement in 36 years!

I seem to remember someone here posted a pic of their engine with a complete new set of blue hoses. I can't remember who it was though, or which engine he had. Edit: Here's a Land Rover set - https://www.terraintechparts.com/pro...r-n-a-ba-2360b Last edited by Blink; 2nd October 2020 at 12:20.. |
