Must be building up to it. The dogs woke me at 6am this morning, noticed a strange light through the blinds. I thought it might be the flare at the petrochemical plant in Fife, wasn't. It was a huge yellow moon hanging just above the horizon over Fife.

Fingers crossed for the weather and I'll see if I can get any good shots.
Although.......you get more detail in the craters from a moon that is waxing or waning rather than full

Yup full moons are pretty dull to photograph, everything looks pretty flat and relatively featureless. It's a shame we won't get to see the eclipse happening on the same night. I did manage to get some pics of the last eclipse and other solar system stuff. I have the pics on my facebook thing if you want to have a look https://www.facebook.com/pete.white....0044606&type=3

That's right, they only come along once in a blue moon.

If anyone's interested, there's a documentary called Wonders Of The Moon on BBC1 tomorrow night (31st Jan) at 21:00. 'Supermoons' is one the topics that will be covered.
