'I don't really want to talk about this - I don't want to broadcast my misfortune.'! How can it be misfortune, it was 100% self inflicted. Probably considers himself hard done by because he was caught.

HIS misfortune ??? How about the poor motorists using the same stretch of road as that idiot ?? If a vehicle travelling at 155 mph is behind a driver using the road normally, the driver checking his mirrors to move out into another lane may well not see the lunatic behind. When he checks his mirrors, the road is clear, a second later, a car is hurtling up behind him....nobody would expect a vehicle to be travelling at that speed behind him. Carnage, innocent people killed, motorways closed for hours, gridlock, all because of one imbecile. Jail, for a long time, is the only option for disgraceful driving like that.

What an a-hole, and the court is no better.
Only disqualified from driving for nine months and handed a £325 fine. Magistrates only ordered him to pay£85 in costs and a £32 victim surcharge. Should have jailed the prat for 6 months and a 2 year driving ban, then forced to take a retest. |

Though I might have to hunt around for decent insurance quote afterwards.

Double and more the speed limit, should have definitely had a minimum 12month ban, and suspended setence.

Hard done by....!!
That surely isn't an appropriate sanction (or maybe the minimum sanction was applied). The Law is an ass if he gets away without a review of the findings - probably a Magistrates Court so the Magistrate needs 'councelling' and the Clerk want's sacking. |
