Default Real wood dash

Hi, i'm considering upgrading to a real walnut dash to replace my Light oak one in the near future. I think I heard that only the dashboard panels are real wood, and that everything below the radio (Such as the cupholders, front ashtray, hazards/lock button and the heated seats cover) are all fake wood, regardless of the age of the car. Is this true?

In addition, I know that the front armrest is vinyl, not leather in my car. Which bits of the interior are real leather, and which are fake/vinyl?

Cheers.

That is all true about the dashboard. The earlier cars had wood veneer ones, but all of the rest of the trim was fake.

I'm quite a fan of the light oak, the only real concern I have with the walnut is that it might be a bit too dark? Black interior with a darker wood dashboard...

You think walnut is too dark? I have black oak, black leather seats - looks dull as dull can be! Would love to change to walnut wood!

I just bought a real wood dash for mine but ordered all the stuff as mine looks good then below the radio it’s faded because the previous owner paid to get it valeted and cleaned the bottom half badly and it’s faded so I bought it all for 55 quid

Same with my old tourer what I sold but it was a sport 75 facelift remapped so it goes with the car if it’s meant to be a sporty 75

I installed my walnut dash a few months ago and the difference it makes is great.

Before:

After:

Even compared to the plastic Walnut, the real wood is so much nicer. Much richer than the bland Light Oak, which I really don't like anymore. Had fears about it being too dark but it's a lot shinier and actually brightens up the interior.

( And you can boast about having a real walnut dash )

It's dead fiddly (Fiddly, not difficult) to fit and the central air vent control is particularly annoying, also don't be afraid to use quite a bit of force putting the panels back.

Should have let me know you were going to fit one, I have a spare Walnut dash in the garage I need to get rid of because I bought 2. Now I need to get round to installing a walnut wheel as mine's still light oak.

(If anyone wants a walnut dash, drop me a PM)

The light oak just doesn't look rich enough.
Maybe if it had a few coats of lacquer it may look better
