I'm very well accustomed to the local hazmat team

The bad news is.......Stu has left Clacton bound for Kent so the gas leak is spreading across the Home Counties

There was a murder at the Fellows Society last night

Or was it just my mate Les being a bit clumsy with the wine

Sky News being weird! Talking about the latest idiotic idea that's doing the rounds, putting the calorific value on alcoholic drinks. According to Sky News a pint if lager has the same calories as a slice of chocolate cake, fair enough . . . . a glass of wine is the same as four fish fingers . . . .

Know the feeling Derek, we're surrounded by trees here, garden vacs are great machines!

In my schooldays, you did as you were tellt or suffered the consequences (clip round the lughole or worse - the dreaded cane )
When we were told to study Shakespeare - we did -hence the memory still remembers snippets like "Out damn'd spot, out I say" and "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or close the wall up with our English dead."

Really helpful nowadays, I use such phrases all the time

I'm tight - I wait for the wind to blow them all into a corner of the garden - and then get SWMBO to pick 'em all up - I did buy her a new pair of gardening gloves to avoid any scratches and scrapes.

Had a count up of how many apples we got off our tree in the garden this year - 43 and all nice and sweet. Best pickings we've had since we planted it about 10 years ago

On the subject of Autumnal leaves and things like that - the hedgeback where we have picked sloe berries for many a year has been ripped out to cater for new houses

So this year, instead of sloe gin, we're going for blackberry gin - we got loads of brambles this year from local hedgebacks so we've got enough for the gin AND lots of Winter crumbles. We also saved some raspberries from our garden, and I think I'll sling them into the remaining half bottle of vodka in the wine cabinet.

I'll let you know what it all tastes like in about 6 weeks' time
