Default steering rack leaking

So I have got the car back now with a clean mot.

The garage said they have now found the power steering leak after I cleaned it up.

He said it was a seal on the top of the rack.

Can you get rack parts or is it a new rack that is needed?

Thank you.

Josh

If it’s a seal on the top, chances are it’s a dowty seal and is easily replaced, a ten min job!

Might be the seal where the column goes into the rack,if so I couldn't find any when mine went.
Has the subframe been lowered on one side?

The clutch was done and then less than a year later the clutch was done again because the original garage put the wrong one in.

If they lowered the subframe without slackening the rack it drops the rack and forces the column into the rack at an angle.
The seals are old now and tend not to go back round hence the leak.

Been there done that
