did the jaguar garage rip him off?
So yesterday I was bored & I saw a very nice MG ZT-T 1.8L, for sale with 174.000 km on the clock. It looked very clean and the owner stated that he has invoices of almost 4000 euro on repairs that have been done.
So me thinking that this car is a potentially good deal, I went to check it out since it was only a 25 minute drive. I arrive and start talking to the owner, who first shows me a bunch invoices from an official jaguar/land rover garage who had basically taken apart the whole engine to fix the head gasket along with other things such as thermostat, timing belt etc... So I thought to myself ''damn okay this car should be in pretty good shape then.'' Oh boy was I wrong I open the bonnet, check the fluids, I open the coolant reservoir, there was no coolant or water inside??? how is that even possible if u spent 4000 euro on repairs? So I put coolant in it and take it for a test drive... on low speeds the car drove fine but when giving full throttle the engine sputtered and a check engine light came on. On top of that the clutch pedal was hard and didn't want to go in reserve at a certain point which made me think that the car hasn't had a clutch replacement yet I walked away from the deal and told the guy he should go back to the dealer & complain because if u spend 4000 euro u should expect a fully working car with 0 issues what do u think happened? |

That's a lot of money for a poor engine.
Yes I would say an unsatisfactory result and for that money you can expect a full rebuild with performance to match.
