Default 2.0 V6 Lack of power

Hello. I have an 75 2.0 V6 and it has no power after a few minutes. Full throttle goes not.And will not gear up (automatic gearbox). But put in the wintermode helps. Error code P0172+P0175. Been told to change sparkplugs.Has not been done in 16000km. Or can it be something worse?

Fault codes refer to the same problem on both banks:

P0172 System Too Rich (Bank 1)
P0175 System Too Rich (Bank 2)

Blocked air filter or collapsed Shannon tube under wheel arch? Try removing air filter and disconnect the tube supplying the air filter to check.

With those fault codes and characteristics my first call would be a pre cat O2 sensor-get whoever has read the codes to check the live data. Once warmed up the O2 sensor should be switching from 0.1v to 0.9v approx quickly and with big jumps at least once a second at a fast idle.

I agree, check the lambda sensors, once they are ok make sure your vis motors are working (Stocktake on here can supply refurbished ones if you need some)

check for plugs not plugged into the sensors. Could be missing info for the computer box.

Hello again. Now my sparkplugs are replaced. They were awful. The center of the plugs were like a pyramid. And we found that a t-connection between the cylinderbanks vaccum was broken. Now the car behaves allright again. Thanks for all tips. Sorry for my English.I am from Sweden. And my mechanic do not want to change them again :P

Pleased you're sorted and it was a nice, easy fix although probably quite expensive. Lots of garages cheat on the spark plugs and just replace the easier front ones - best maintenance is usually that done by the owner. Hint, hint

sounds good up to now and i hope its sorted. the breather pipes will make a big difference . however with the plugs being so bad would it all be down to the breather pipes ? sounds well rich to me. indeed if it cures everything all well and good. if it does come back then look again at the pre cat o2 sensor as suggested by trikey and while there check out the others. you should know soon enough as the M.I.L light will come on again with P.O errors. ....
