Replacing rear parking sensor
Good afternoon!
Trying to replace the left hand side rear parking sensor today, on a '02 Rover 75 saloon. Removed the bumper and the contact to the sensor. There are clips all around it holding the sensor itself, even on the underside, I think. How on earth is it removed? Should it be pushed out, or pulled out? I've tried to lift the clips, and then remove it, but it's stuck like concrete. I tried to attach a picture of the phenomenon, no success there. Suggestions are greatly appriciated. Sincerely, Erik from Sweden. |

Hi,
i've just removed all 4 from my tourer and just needed to open slightly the clips on the inside of the bumper, having removed the electrical contacts, then the sensor can be pushed in from the outside quite easily, leaving the bumper coloured ring on the outside. They may be a little stubborn to move if they havent been touched before. Mine all came out without issue.

thank you so much! You are refering to the clips on the opposite sides of the sensor, visable from above? When opening/lifting those, I can then push the sensor in from the outside? Sincerely, Erik |

which one is faulty
Hi,
While we're on the topic, is there a way to bench-test the sensors to find out which one(s) are faulty? Thanks, Malc |

I had a duff rear sensor, put the car into reverse, went round the back, and had a listen. They make a high frequency ticking sound, was easy to tell which one was silent and broken. What is TOAF? |

Agree, just listened for the clicking, nothing from my original sensors but after trying the sensors from my donor car, 2 of the 'new' ones were clicking very noticeably so at least 2 work now!
