2.0 litre Rover 75 engines
Just wondering how many 2.0 litre engines Rover 75s have survived , since those were dropped in 2002

I'm sure You could still spec them on the facelift 75 rather than the 1.8 or the 2.5V6

According to this
In round numbers they are:- 2.0V6 - 1.4k taxed and 1.0k SORN 2.5V6 - 2.5k taxed and 1.2k SORN I know it isn't 100% accurate but gives a good guide. I believe that the super smooth 2.0litre version was only killed off due to the more fuel efficient 1.8T version

Not all I’m afraid, I’ve bought three dead cars over the years caused by camshaft failure, the front of the cam literally breaks off.

Due, no doubt, to ham-fisted maintenance without using the special timing tools!

A problem with the 2.0KV6 was it was underpowered for the 75 and needed more right foot for performance and hence more fuel.
I had a 2 litre R75 company car so the fuel costs did not worry me, but when I bought my own 2.5KV6 Tourer I was still happy with the running costs. Still have it 19 years later. |

Luckily , the camshaft off my old head was happy to move to a new home and with valves reground and valve stem oil seals replaced the car is running absolutely beautifully
