Default Rover 75 parts suppliers

Hi After lots of unsuccessful attempts to sort out my clutch I have handed the problem to the dealer from whom I bought the car new in 2003. Though they no longer sell Rovers some of their fitters have been there long enough to be familiar with them or so I am lead to believe.
I spoke to one today who seemed not to know where they can now obtain replacement parts and so I am wondering if our readers might be able to recommend one. I am based in the southeast though don't see that as important.
I often receive emails from DMGRS but they don't include a return email address or phone number.

Hi

If you google DMGRS, Rimmers or XPart then you should be able to find each supplier and then search for relevant parts.

If the parts are elusive remember theres an "Items Wanted" sub forum on here so always worth giving that a go as well

HTH

DMGRS contact page, includes phone number, email address etc.

There are also the club traders (screenname in dark blue) for work, used parts etc.

if you Google DMGRS and go to their web site you will find a phone number and email address. If you contact them you can point out what you feel is missing from their emails

Many thanks for the responses to my topic.
I have since been onto the Rimmers website and they can supply all the bits I think I would need to repair the car. These are all clutch related
However, as mentioned above in my thread the car is with Beadles of Gillingham who supplied it new to me though they are no longer Rover dealers but still have some of their Rover experienced mechanics which is why I took it to them ( and they seemed happy to oblige!)
They have now told me that they are having difficulty sourcing parts for my car but won't buy from Rimmers as they don't have an account with them and being part of a large motor group will not be able to do anything 'outside the square'
So at the moment the fitter has been told to hang fire on removing the gearbox - a fairly labour intensive job - until they are satisfied they can obtain any parts that need replacing.
Until its fixed the car isn't worth diddly squat.

If the garage is unable to source the parts, unusual, why don't you purchase them ?

Any good garage should be able to accommodate you this way, they may, under such circumstances, only guarantee the labour side of the job and not the materials.

When they say " as they don't have an account with them" I wonder how they go about sourcing parts for various vehicles that come in, which they also don't have an account with the parts supplier or dealer?

Seems an odd statement to be honest !

Beadles don't seem to be very helpful do they ??

I expect that if you supply the parts they will say they can't guarantee them as they are from an unknown source or manufacturer.--They might decline to fit them.

I suppose you could offer and see what their response would be.--

Agreed !
Perhaps they only use cheapo Chinese parts and don't like Rimmers' prices ?
This is the first time I have heard of a garage having this problem with a Rover , although I once was asked to get the parts myself as the garage didn't want to be responsible for the quality ; they believed all Rover parts to be dodgy !!!!!

Personally I would not use fitters who have not touched MGR cars for the last 16 years.
They can hardly be called specialists anymore. They also seem to be putting conditions in front of you to accept first.
There are plenty of traders/fitters who work on these cars everyday and will probably be a bit cheaper than dealer labour rates.

This place is your best source of parts knowledge and fitting expertise.

I only trusted two people, Dunc (Cossie Dunc) and my mechanic mate. Trouble is my mate has semi retired, his back is shot, too many years crawling around under cars.
