I mentioned the other day the benefit of stuff I’ve picked-up from this forum and that some is passed on to owners in Sweden. Well, I and several other owners will soon receive some replacement sill panels - no prizes for guessing their origin.

Thanks to suzublu for the initial post.

Contact Thomas through his website http://www.tjhobbs.com/ and ask. Found him very easy to deal with, quick to answer, all in all a pleasure.

Keep well

Hi Mike.
Those are going to be a must have part for all of us, I wonder if Tom can make them fast enough nice to know he is on to it though, thanks for posting.

They look like they could have come from the factory . Great to know that Tom is happy to make these - I'm sure they'll save a number of members cars in the future.

Great work from Tom .

That's absolutely fantastic - I wish I'd known about these when my ZT-T needed the same section repairing!

I bought a pair just in case I need in the future. They arrived on Thursday and the quality is amazing. I’ve a friend up here who blasts and paints agricultural plant and I was at his place on Friday and he was restoring the body of an Austin Gypsy, I never knew he did such things. I asked if he’d do Gerald when and if the time came and he said he would. He told me how he’d do it by flanging the old sill and welding in the new section and then treat the joint from behind which many don’t do so stores up trouble down the line with corrosion coming through again from behind.

Thanks for the comments. Yes they do look like factory panels, indeed I’ve always thought it odd that Rover made replacement panels for the SD1 but not the 75 (SD1 sills are still available).

Bit surprised too that Mat (DMGRS) hasn’t sourced panels from China, (if the tooling still exists). Still, let’s enjoy the fact that there are still people in England capable of producing work of high quality.

I won’t go into pricing, but let me just say that I, and others here in Sweden felt the price reasonable in relation to the quality of work, so many times we hear people aren’t prepared to pay for a quality product - some are. Add to this the ease of contact with Thomas and a very good postage rate, well it can't be better.

Interesting to hear Les4048 has bought a pair. I expressed my interest well before Christmas - seems that Thomas can cater for the domestic market too.

Keep well

I'm also surprised I've not thought to source these sooner - however with the quality of those, I'll leave it to Tom.
I doubt anything I can get hold of would beat these!

Les4048, vitesse, you may as well mention a price, I see no point no doing so.
It will also save Tom getting phone calls asking how much they are.
