Hi thanks for that, just looked at parkers and one says my vehicle £205 tax per year, a bit further down my vehicle £305 tax per year, both registered March 199 to Feb 2004, £100.00 difference.

Hi yes that's where I looked in the first place, the first one is £205.00 and a bit further along its £305.00 same car same registration year, totally weird.

Was the taxation not changed in 2000 from engine size to emissions?

This would explain that anomaly.

Why not use the government site (DVLA I think but it could be Customs and Excise). They give all the VED rates. Mine was £10 higher due to the timespan from the DVLA issuing the reminder and the tax uplift date.

I get my Mr. Angry hat on when I think us petrol heads are subsidising the NOX brigade.

I still think it would be better to put the VED (road tax) onto fuel costs then everyone who uses fuel would have to pay it.

Certainly there has got to be some better alternatives, as long as Merkel doesn't lean on our PM's.

Doesn't make sense does it! Same VED band as petrol and yet virtually no pollution. All down to Gordon Brown kowtowing to the Kyoto brigade without realising (obviously missed science classes) the alternative would be far worse.

Pass me my asthma inhaler luv!
