Default Uploaded file not an image

I’ve been trying to upload images and get “Uploaded file not an image” never had a problem before so I can’t understand why it’s not uploading. Image is JPEG between 2.5 and 3.7mb and I’m using an iPad. Any suggestions, please don’t suggest other apps as I won’t use them, never had a problem taking them straight off iPad using the url

This tends to happen when the size of the image file is too big, I would suggest that you change the image size to 1024 x 768, and this will reduce the image file size, then you should be able to upload the image

Or even reduced down to 400-600px wide. That's a good size for maintaining the standard page width. Scrolling up/down or left/right to see an over large image discourages people from reading the post,

I downloaded a resize app and even at 800x600 which was perfect before won’t upload as it’s not an image. I wonder if Apple have changed the file format in one of their updates and it’s no longer a file type the forum doesn’t recognise

They’re reduced to 800x600 but I’ve seen much larger being posted and as you state it does discourage people as even I give up with such postings. It’s not the size that seems to be the problem as it states not a file

Does it open in an app like Windows Photo Viewer?
Right click file > Open with > Windows Photo Viewer

EDIT: Spotted this on Google:
Apple switched its default camera formats for photos and videos from JPG to HEIC (High-Efficiency Image Format) with iOS 11 to save space on the phone. ...

I believe there are ways to convert HEIC files to Jpeg. Google will know.

See my EDIT above.
There may well be iPad apps that will convert it to Jpeg.

Well I’ve downloaded an app that converts image files to jpeg, I’ve reduced all pictures and now they’re at 2.2mb and still get the message “image not a file”. I give up so I’ll stick to Facebook for posting pictures. Thanks for all your help guys much appreciated
