I received a private message from someone who ought to know better. It was sent from messenger on Facebook, how this person was watching over me at night like an angel and if I didn’t send the message onto all of my friends on Facebook, then I was the biggest loser ever and I was a ..... bad name. Anyway I deleted the message and chose loser status

G'day Phil - all still OK (as can be) at your side of the world I hope?
I must admit I very rarely go onto my Facebook account - it's one of those situations where a minority are keyboard warriors. They say appalling things in writing without fear of retribution - knowing full well that if they said the same to your face, they'd probably get a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. The abuse my daughter, a schoolteacher, has had from parents via Facebook has led to her closing her account. We now keep in touch with all our family via WhatsApp - access restricted to those we favour

We both remain well thank you Rod. I like WhatsApp, I am in a small group of former Rover 75 enthusiasts where we talk about anything. We don’t talk about the OC, anything else is ok, it’s an escape, good mates

How shocking your daughter was treated like that on Facebook. Those responsible should be ashamed of themselves. The person who sent me the bad message on Facebook, is now unfriended.

Despite it being sunny today, a brisk breeze from the North/North East has made it uncomfortable to be out in the open.
So I decided it was time for a clearout of household paperwork from my filing system (a small version of a hanging file drawer).
I'm not sure there's any need to keep current account bank statements from 10 years ago - and in shredding them, came across the last cheque book I ever received from Yorkshire Bank. The last cheque I ever wrote was on 5th August 2008 - if asked, I would have said it was more recent than that
The most depressing thing I found was Council Tax bills going back for donkey's years - couldn't bear to look at what we were paying 15 years ago compared to 2020

I had the pleasure of a visit to the supermarket today, nice to see the shelves full and no panic buying.

The toilet roll aisle was full plenty for everyone ,perhaps people are now controlling their e Motions.

Came home with everything I needed.

Our supermarket staff deserve some credit for what they have done to help us all get fed and watered during these troubled times

Evening all, Been a lovely sunny day & that easterly wind has kept the temps down, I've been covering some plants & putting some back inside the greenhouse as temps of 1C are forecast overnight

I knocked up a cottage pie for tea tonight
