He’s on his last legs really slow to get up the stairs and only goes for a short walk now has been on steroids for a while now and has to go in for a checkup tomorrow. Will worry about the MOT afterwards

Good luck on both counts. We lost ours to cancer/put her to sleep in May after 15 years as family pet. The hole in our lives was horrendous so we eventually succumbed to the charms of puppy who is doing a good job of easing the grief.

The nice things about having a dog in the family, is they are just, family. When we lost our Golden Cocker Spaniel, many years ago ,it was months before we got over the loss, but even now it brings back happy memories just talking about it. Hope your dog will be ok for a while yet. Let us know what happens.

I've never had any dog that wasn't a Heinz 57, until a few years ago when Alfie came along, to ease the passing of Mollie, a rescue lurcher who was 18 when she passed into the next life. What is amusing though, is the amount of people who ask what Alfie is crossed with, and the look on their faces when you announce his lineage.......LINK At the time of posting, Rob has just over an hour remaining on his MOT......
