ECU wows
hi Having issues with the 75 2.0 CDTI 2005. Just stopped running. Had water in the box so sorted that out. (block drain). Took out ECU and dried. Took off cover and all looks good. Found Glow plug relay had shorted badly so have replaced that but still will not start. I noticed that the oil pressure warning does not come on in key postion two, also there a constant drain on the battery even when nothing is on. 1.7amps tested with clamp ammeter. disconnected the ECU but drain still present. removed all the relays and fuses but its still there. (not the interior lights) Any ideas?? Does the ECU need replacing?? can I just fit one? or does it need setting up? any idea about the electrical drain. I do not live anywhere near a T4 unit. Engine does turn over, (also fitted new cam sensor) could it be the crank sensor?? also is the oil light a clue?
Any thoughts please?? |

Good test for the crank sensor is when you turn her over does the rev counter move? If not then it could be the crank sensor.

Yes, the oil light is a good sign for a dead ecu.

CB750CHRIS has a T4, can supply and fit replacement ECUs, and is near Fareham. Highly recommended.
Can also do spare keys. |
