Default Just been rocked to the core

Just taken a shock phone call that has rocked me to the core.

If all goes well, I'm going to be a granddad

Now that was one I did not see coming this year.

Daughter has just started a new job, just buying a "new" house, they say things come in threes.

Her husband is bursting with excitement. If all goes well his dreams will have come true. He dotes on my daughter, the house they are buying exceeds his expectations of what he thought he would achieve and he desperately wanted children

Congratulations - whatever they cost, they are worth many more times that
I'm in the final years of doing school runs and simply love it. Dunno what I'll do when grandaughter gets to the age where she'll be off on her own

I said to the wife earlier, better start the college fund.
Long way to go, probably about "9" months and so I have a lot of worrying ahead of me.

I have said also to the wife I am not getting involved with "I spent more then you" with other people. I will look around the car boot sales and go for quantity over expense as I did for my two.

I hope I can be the granddad that is there to support their grand child, taking them on days out and may be even a holiday/weekend away. I want to encourage them not to be scared of their own shadow and to be adventurous as my two were taught.

My mum and dad were there for my two but died before they become teenagers. My dad was so proud of them and omg he would have burst with pride to watch them playing football for the school, take part in Taekwondo competitions, go to college and onto uni and then on to work. It is such a shame they missed out but we used his money once he died to support them thorough uni as he would have wanted to have done.

oh well, lets see what the future holds
