Replaced cracked door mirror glass.
Managed not to break any clips getting the skullcap off! All I need to do now is replace the door loom so the mirrors actually move |

60mpg! that's what I did with my Rover 75 today. And i'm well impressed.
PS: before you start, that is brim to brim. Mostly motorway miles but hey! you can't argue with more miles than a rubbishy modern Hybrid. Long live the Rover 75. |

Done today
Did an MOT prep on my zt for next week.
Found a clunk in the steering at about neutral, good old top bearing wear. Tried a trick we use at work for fixing cycling non rotational bearings, (ones that don't do a full 360 degrees, levers etc), undid the three nuts securing the struts to the body and dropped them down a bit so they could be rotated, then turned them through 360 degrees five times, you can turn them as many as you like with a socket on the centre nut, just make sure it is an odd number of turns or all the bearings will be back in the original positions and it may carry on clunking. Guess what, the clunking is gone. Smooth as silk. I will however replace the bearings in the summer, weather too bad to be stripping suspension at the moment, this will just keep the mot tester happy. Deep Sea Green
Fitted a deep Sea Green interior to my tourer a couple of weeks ago [been on holiday, hence the delay]
It's a bit of a job changing the interior but with help from Trikey completed in a few hours. I had already changed the carpet to green, so it was just the dashboard, door cards and seats to replace. Center consol has to come out. Then the dashboard top [Thanks Andy] The secret of removing the rear tourer seat. A hinge pin and collar at each end, plus 3 torx bolts near the split rear seat. Eventually everything back together. Thanks to information from Reebs my tourer is one of 189 with the Deep Sea Green leather interior. Also, many thanks to Andy [Trikey] for help and information on changing the interior. Dave T |
