Aircon squeel
Hey,
I noticed since having my aircon regassed that it makes some weird squeaking whale noises. It only does it after turning the car off after using the aircon. The fan kicks in when I use the aircon. What else could cause it? Cheers Phill |

Usual cause of whooping noise is insufficient cooling capacity. Typically no fan (it's not that) and loss of condensor efficiency. Check the matrix fins with your finger, you may be surprised - (and dismayed).

The aircon condenser is bolted to the front side of the main engine radiator. You have to take the front bumper off to gain any access. If you find it's necessary to replace the condenser, it means stripping out the fan assembly first. Plenty of HowTo stuff around if you use Custom Search at the top of the page.
