CDTI cutting out
Can anyone help me?
My Cdti has an intermittent problem. It runs fine then for no apparent reason, when I either put my foot hard down or just pulling away gently it will cut out. A quick flick of the ignition, it carrys on as normal. I suspect a fuel delivery problem but where do I start?. |

Hi Nick.
If your model as an under bonnet pump then check the flow, also have or do a leak back test on the injectors, if possible find the nearest T4 to you and get a session on the car.

CDTI cutting out
I had the same on a car a few years ago, it was a case of injector leakback, I replaced one injector and all was well.

(Although, now I would just contact mikeyboy (? who can test these) or another trader on here and get a good 2nd hand unit for less money)

Have you got more than a quarter tank of diesel in?

Does it on a full tank or an empty one.
I have also had a leakback test done and all injectors within limits. Last edited by chunkybray; 13th August 2019 at 17:38.. Reason: spelling |

HI Nick
Try taking the connector off the fuel rail and clean it with electrical contact cleaner, then my next step would be to look at the regulator O-rings, if you are reporting back that the injectors are ok, how quick did they fill up after a 2 minute tick over what mil was in each one? Sounds to me like damage to the connector on the common rail pressure sensor, or as I found with an ECM recently, where the reading is 0, but the car still runs
