Oh, yes, what a nice set of wheels too for that car. I had forgotten the steel wheels which also give a nice ride for our 75's.

Plus, they are far better suited to cope with the rutted and pothole-riddled roads which seem to be favoured by those who are charged with maintaining them.

I'm obviously in a minority, but it's the Unions for me. They look the nicest of all to me and suit the mk1 really well.
Only got 3 75's left now (and they're staying!) and 2 of them are on Unions, the other wears Comets in the winter and forks in the summer. The forks came about when I stripped a facelift diesel and the wheels looked nice and the Comets looked very sorry. Comets now refurbished and with winter Conti's will keep us firmly on the blacktop when it's icy.
So much for my tourer being semi retired, used almost every day since lockdown I miss it too much, now up to 273000.

Whilst on the subject of alloys I found when I took the tyre off a Union they were printed as manufactured by Hayes Wheels spa of Genoa, Italy. The Comets have MG Rover MADE IN BRITAIN cast into them. Anybody know who made any of the others? (Knew I liked the Comets and they were worth a refurb :-))

That's one good-looking Tourer you have there Steve! The serpents look cool, and I'm loving that front end. And of course, Firefrost Red rules

However, mine came with Star Spokes, as per factory fitted, and will be refurbished on Thursday. I still haven't decided on what colour to paint them - gloss black sparkle, like Arctic, or maybe silver sparkle? Someone from abroad posted a photo showing alloys with what looked like a white line around the edges, but I'm damned if I can find it now..

Not sure that was the one, Ron, but I do like the look!

Is it done by having a lick of white paint around the edge? I'm inclined to go with it, rather than the gloss black sparkle...wouldn't want to be mistaken for an Audi!

Hi John, they are plastic rim inserts which fit between the tyre and rim. Tobias, whose car this is I think, got his from here http://mellys-gmbh.co/montage-video-englisch/
They are available elsewhere. I had some on my steelies which I was having a play with
