Fridge freezer repair help
Morning,
Our fridge / freezer is playing up. Not getting cold. It's not frosted up etc I've changed the control board and we had function for a day. All the fans and flaps work. The compressor is HOT. All the tubes leading to / from compressor (3) are cold. The relay on the side of the compressor clicks every now and again. Kind of get the feeling that the pentane isn't circulating. I'm only getting ~100v from the external capacitor where to connects to the compressor relay. Help! Dave |

Is it a self-defrosting one. If so is it the case that the fridge is not working but the freezer is. If so then it could be the common problem of a failed heater element which does the defrosting. Ice builds up clogging the matrix in the freezer preventing cold air flowing into the fridge.

I don't know how capacitors work as such but I would expect that when 240v is incoming from the klixon and the compressor is rated at 240v then the capacitor should push out more than 100v. The capacitor has 3 ratings from 450v to 500v. Not sure how much oomph a compressor needs to start... |

Has it..
Has it got more than one thermostat? That could be the fault.
