I am surprised the haul didn’t get sold on the black market soon after it arrived tbh?!?

Officialdom repeatedly refused to take action over a clear and present threat to the wider population and what we laughingly call Health and Safety. No less than six judges over a period of six years declined to act in the public interest let alone the existing law. When I say declined, what they actually did is precisely nothing. What we might call Nelson’s Eye, but for vastly different reasons.

So all that is left is the itch of supposition and in that fetid cauldron of hate there can be only one conclusion. Even the Russian owner of both the ship and its cargo has abandoned it. Literally, money to burn.

The ship, the MV Rhosus, which carried the nitrate had some form with other port authorities prior to Beirut. Why was it abandoned in Beirut and not elsewhere? The crew I believe were innocent pawns and some of them including the captain/master have given some telling interviews. The captain cast doubt on the official reason for the ship being impounded and he raised a couple of pertinent points: The owner of the nitrate had apparently paid $1m for it to be shipped to Mozambique, why did the owner abandon it and not follow up with a claim for it? Why did the Lebanese not spread it on their fields as fertilizer or sell it on as such?
