I stopped watching QT a while ago. In particular I dislike the way that the audience clap, whoop and applaud their favoured politician irrespective of what they were saying - almost as if it's a football match. To coin a phrase from James O'Brian - the footballification of politics. Doesn't matter what your 'team' says, you support them no matter what.

I must be old fashioned as I just stopped watching it rather than watch it, dislike it and then routinely complain about it. I think a lot of people rather enjoy being upset by it - certainly if social media is anything go by.

It would be nice if a female replacement of his calibre could be found for the show but for me it would maybe take someone like Betty Boothroyd who was a former Speaker of the House of Commons.

Surely Fyfe Robertson would be much better. Or was it Annette Mills?

I'd like to see Nigel Farage host QT in the interests of balance. It was disgraceful the way
BBCs hand picked leftie audience and panel ganged up on him when he appeared as a guest.lt didn't seem to bother him though,he came through it with his usual eloquence.
I thought he was very impressive on his LBC talk show.

There were a few of that era that could have fitted the bill, Sir Ludovic Kennedy being one of them on my list.

Yes, lol. Not to mention his "here today gone tomorrow" remark which prompted someone, whose name escapes me, to storm off the set in the huff.

Sir Robin was the ultimate expert in saying something off the cuff that afterwards could be read in a variety of ways. Another, close on his heels, was David Frost with a twinkle in his eye.

Have been a keen regular since Robin’s days, but the last year or two of even Dimblebys reign was starting to be slanted with a certain side of the political spectrum. Fiona was the final straw for me, and since Covid I have given it a wide berth. The audience is now even more PC than ever.

However on last Thursday I ended up flicking through the channels and came upon it in the last 20 mins or so, the same old faces wheeled out with the same messages, was about to switch over but held off when the phones for you founder John Cauldwell gave that holier than though John Ashworth such a dressing down with his political agenda it’s worth watching again. There was also an Asian Doctor who talked some real sense, but she was shot down by Fiona and co trying to maintain the Covid fear factor.

Just seen the Wiki about QT and I was surprised to see that Paxman lost out to Dimbleby after two pilot show auditions.

No way does that result seem viable without some sort of backstage fiddling.
