Sad end to last nights picnic
Wife and I had gone for a picnic in the forest, we had found a very large clearing and yesterday horses and cows had congregated.
Alas it came to an end via a phone call from our daughter. Our son in law who is a police officer had been taken to hospital. While waiting a recovery truck to pick up a car, I don't know the details a crown/mob gathered. He was attacked by a drug addict brandishing a cycle chain. He has been kicked, hit with the chain to the head and worse, spat at that went into his mouth. He managed to cuff the bloke. He now has to find somewhere to live for a few days as he is not allowed home and depending on the test in 48 hours may have to stay away from home for a couple of weeks. Hep C and covid being the 2 concerns. He is such a nice bloke but as a police officer has to deal with the scum in our society and this is not his first injury. Hopefully this bloke will go down for the attack but it wont be for long enough and probably will attack someone in the future. Going to be a difficult couple of days worrying I don't want to see our police routinely armed but .......... macafee2 |

My daughter was a Special Constable and was spat at whilst arresting a female shoplifter.
The trauma of Hep C testing and waiting for the results is not a light matter, but with Covid19 as well, my thoughts are with you and them. |

Not good. Daughter is a PC and when she used to patrol Birmingham at weekends after closing time it was always "lively" to say the least. Some proper scum on the streets. Since then has moved on and she is now the one who stoves your front door in at 4.30 am if you have a cannabis factory in your house. Salt of the earth our police force. They gets lots of stick but day to day policing is no fun out there.

The behaviour of an ever increasing minority needs 'treating'. The punishment is no where near relative to the crime in my opinion. I believe this is the best form of 'rehabilitation'. These spanners have no concept of the cost of their actions.
I sincerely hope the retard has not done your son in law and his family any further harm. The majority of Police officers have a near impossible job trying to deal with the few bad eggs within as well as every conceivable form of idiot outside. |

Thank you everyone your comments are appreciated.
The frontline people NHS (this covers much more then just hospitals), Police, Fire, we all turn to them when in trouble yet they are the very same people some treat like dirt, like a target. Lack of respect with ineffective punishments. macafee2 |
