Default Another addition - the launch car that was forgotten

Another car came to live with me today, and quite a rare one it is too.
It is a launch car but not the all singing and dancing Wedgwood one this is the 1.8 club that has a few additional toys such as headlamp wash, heated cloth seats, electric rear blind, front fog lamps and volumetric alarm.
I want to post a huge thank you to Dave lincs for allowing me to take this car on, it is a car that has a very personal history for Dave and I have assured him it is in good hands and will get the care and attention it requires.
There are some cosmetic issues that I will deal with over the next few months and one or two other minor issues to deal with but I have to say, having never owned a 1.8 before, i was really surprised how well it drives, not overly powerful but more than capable of holding its own and barely a rattle or creak from the trim or suspension.
The cambelt is due for changing but having researched on the forum I probably won't have to bother as it looks alright to me so maybe I'll just leave it, NOT!!! 😂😂

Steve.

The 1.8 is the perfect engine for the 75, the lightweight lump makes the driving experience so much nicer.

(And its easier to work on when the head gasket goes )

It is a superb car Steve and I know it has gone to a great home where it will be looked after as I said to you the 1.8 cars are so much lighter to drive

Lovely launch car, why is it they are in general so much better at surviving the elements than newer ones. I would love to get another launch car but it would have to have only two pedals, my health these days require only one leg to be in use.
