best way to clean leather prior to dye
as title says, whats the best way to clean the leather on my steering wheel before using dye on it?

Try acetone it worked well on my wheel

For me the best method is warm soapy water and a nail brush.

My mate member Blacknwhite (Bob), posted a tip for this a few months back,get a bar of vanish soap,it brings up leather brilliantly,I have seen this myself,his sandstone was ingrained with muck,we tried all sorts to clean it,including a steam cleaner,nothing would remove the ingrained dirt.
Purely by chance,he was using the soap for a different purpose,and tried a bit on the seat,and it came up mint. Just use a tiny bit of water,enough to create a lather,then massage the soap bar directly on to the surface,then wipe with a clean dry cloth. Honestly,it comes up like new,I couldn't believe the difference,when I saw his car,you would think it was a different interior
