diesel alternator regulator, bushes etc
my CDT's battery light came on while driving along with a battery charge fault sign I think? (cant remember I was focused on something else)
Anyway, checked the n9 OBD reading, battery says 11.4V and stays like that when turning on the engine. Checked fuse 36, it's fine. I suspect a faulty alternator (battery was replaced not even a year ago). My question is, I see DMGRS sells regulators, bushes, slip ring etc, are these a guaranteed fix? I am in doubt whether I should just buy another alternator or go for this option instead. what's the common fault for a non working alternator in a CDT? Thank u |

If the brushes have been caught soon enough and no burning has occurred to the slip rings then fitting new brushes will cure the problem. Fitting them CAN'T wait as all the time the alternator is running more and more damage is happening to the slip rings.---
The battery voltage is very low and needs a minimum of 24 hours on a charger. Don't skimp this as it's very important.-- |
