We, as a society, don't keep anything in reserve any more. Whether that's money, gas supplies or, dare I say, ppe for an extreme virus.

So short sighted.

The price of gas has come down sharply as of late.

Basically I agree and keep mentioning that fact (+infrastructure) every time I write to my MP. As for PPE, stocks were held for a virus attack but the planning was for flu. Some Asian countries also stocked for SARS

That might be just poor allocation of money or a super large mortgage (outside the rules of the day). Media packages to-day are one way to get rid of income!

Had some involvement in writing a pandemic flu plan when I worked in Emergency Planning for a Local Authority few years back.

Did their temp mortuary plan too.

Not as straightforward as that mate.

Which was the problem.

I think the experience of the past two years will make the changes that 9/11 and 7/7 look quite simple to be honest.
