few jobs done today :
fixed an aircon atc panel error (ERR on both sides whether on or off) with a replacement fuse in fuse 25. If only it had been as easy as it was to write that sentence and apparent in practice at the time. This hardly counts though, since it was an error that only cropped up this morning Fitted new wiper blades - my favourites from my other car seemed appropriate - Michelin Hybrides - this time fitted with a 22 on the drivers side and 21 on the passenger based on what I learned from the work on my CDT. Perfect fit. All I had to do here was order 2x 21" blades, and use the passenger 22" one from my CDT on my drivers side here, and the 2 new 21"s. Also dealt with a nasty rust bubble on the leading corner of the bonnet and with help from a good friend sprayed it in. You know who you are sir if you ever read this

ok done a few things over the last few days. First the easy one - removed the MG flags from the back and put the single union flag badge back like a Rover should have:
Then today I had a fantastic day down at Milton Keynes with PhilT4 and JohnH. First Phil fixed my engine manifold leak, which finally brought under control the idle speed and running problems. The manifold had the wrong gasket on it too - metal thing rather than the proper cork ones. John had been working on the awful state of my projector lenses. They needed the horrible CFL kit removed and a leak sorted out where they had been cracked open. seem fine now. Phil also fitted me a new airbox. This was a ZT190 airbox, as we had found the bracket needed - however i stand by the fact that the 'trumpet' section is entirely useless - it won't fit in a rover 75 no way, and even if it did, it would totally block access to the light inspection panel in the wheel arch. So this is junk : mine now just goes into a piece of tube I got from Jules, which we extended up further with metallic conduit and secured up high in the wing. Serves the function the Shannon tube requires fine, and there is no alternative since the trumpet is junk. Also got my spare key finally programmed, so I now have 2 keys Finally got my drivers side powerfold wired up correctly after some dramas last week - drivers side mirror folds beautifully now. All i have to do is get the time to fix the door jamb wiring to get the passenger side working - i know the passenger side powerfold mirror itself works fine , as I tested it with a direct line from the battery - i'm closer now than i ever have been to working powerfolds on one car at least! The drive home was smooth - if you have a car that the engine races, and the idle speed is up and down, is jerky, uses more fuel than it should, pulls horribly when put into drive and defies attempts to control it with the brake as well as it can, and deceleration makes downshifts jerky as hell - maybe you have a leak in your inlet somewhere. All I know is the drive home was smooth, well lit, didn't use as much fuel and this car is finally a joy to drive rather than something I was beginning to lose all hope on. To John H and PhilT4 I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart - in a single day you may well have turned this all around.

one more thing- mini project - Project Powerfold - continues. More dramas than a soap opera, but as of yesterday, this car and my other now both have operational powerfold mirrors on the Drivers side only. This car has a functioning mirror on the other side, but it has not been wired up yet. That puts it slightly ahead of the Gold CDT as the passenger side mirror is still awaiting a functioning motor to reinstall, and will also need the doors off to be connected in. But that's a story for the 2015 thread.
I shall for now at least celebrate this victory, one which I would not have achieved without the help of the kind members of the Rover 75 community, you know who you are. A picture is worth 1000 words

very busy weekend this week, starting friday all the way to today.
First of all, i decided it was time to do something about my scrappy rear bumper. it wasn't a pre project drive one anyway as it lacked a separate bottom black plastic trim: as well as the hole and scratches and chips seen here, there was also a huge crack in it with the paint bubbling off where it had been resprayed before. So I got a yard find , green, but PPD, which fits my car, and got it resprayed: so it ended up a beautiful match and a great job, left it until today to fit so the paint was a bit harder. The final result: Also fitted my undertray back on after it decided to drop half off AGAIN in the week. Now it is secure with 6 M8 40mm bolts and hopefully i won't be going back to look at this again in a long while. Special thank you to Paul (129c) for his patience and help with all of this. Going back a day, saturday went to see friends in kettering, and had a good go at fixing a dodgy abs sensor which was causing the brakes to 'grind' at low speed and wear sensor. My car was one hell of a mess having been butchered. The wear sensor had been cut off and the wires joined, and cable tied to the hydramount, and the abs sensor should have gone down 1 of 2 holes in the wheel arch, not down a gap between the body and the liner! So that needed fixing: sadly the car fought back all the way - from a broken socket on the abs sensor that needed resoldering, to an old abs sensor that wouldn't come out, even up to a new sensor that didn't work. Very annoying, that after all that work, the abs light came on and I had no speedo: Still, a big thank you to john and paulym, who moved heaven and earth to get it going. But it wasn't to be. However, we did get the wear sensor fixed, and the socket tidied ,and it didn't look as butchered as before. Plus my brakes no longer ground below 25mph. A better solution will be found this week.
