The Unloved Spacesaver Wheels & Tyres.
I've just changed over to a set of 4 16 inch Union wheels and tyres, after using Five 15 inch Contour wheels for the last 4 years.
The whole upgrade has cost me £365 (that includes 2 brand new AVON tyres & 2 almost new Avons). So, to give my wallet a rest I picked up an unused spacesaver wheel & tyre for £10. What is all the info on the sidewall about. The SPACESAVER TYRE. Make. CONTINENTAL (made in France). T125/90 R16 98M CST 17 INFLATE TO 60 psi. Max Speed 50 mph. 98M. INFLATE TO 60 psi ? OK done, seems a little high to me but I followed the instructions. . "T125/90 R16 98M CST 17". Whats this mean? Can you help a newby to spacesavers please?. Kevin. |

in simple UK language, max range 50 miles / max speed 50mph due to small size tyre pressure is 60psi as shown.

Wheels
Do yourself a favour and throw the spacesaver away. Use one of your old
15" wheels as a spare as the overall diameter is the same as the 16" wheels for all practical purposes due to the different aspect ratios (sidewalls). |
