Default Can`t open front passenger door via inside or outside handle.

Rover 75 saloon 2002-model. Inside handle and outside handle stoppet working this winter, so maybe because of frost. This is front passenger on the right side (Norway), and this is a door is shut now.

Locking with key and inside button pops the little rod/pin up an down, but doorlatch won`t open when trying inside or outside handle.

Have searched some threads here, seen descrption of some "white clip that has come off/or misplaced on a threaded rod", but noe photos work(photobucket) etc.

So looking for a step by step discription what to do with photos, thank you?

I have removed the inner handle small philips screw and pulled out the handle. This is still connected to the latch, and tried yanking at bit on the whole thing, but doorlatch do not open.
I have also sprayed WD40 down inside doorcard, down the locking pin(that pops up en down), sprayed from outside in the opening when you pull out the handle.
I have not taken the doorcard off, but can open doorcard some in the top when I have the window down, and look inside.

Do a search in the google search above and you will find posts with pictures for both the white nylon lock clip and door cable repairs and also for the possibility of a broke plastic part inside the door handle lever.and its removal .. ..

Oh , and first job ... door card off !! .. You may need to access the clip to detatch the outer door handle assembly and latch through the window corner ,if wound down. There is also a post to detatch the locking clip for the handle this way on the forum. do plenty of searching because you will need the door open to remove the door card without damage .

Hello anderfa,
I have successfully released the rear door card, sufficiently to push up the operating rod and open the door.

Wind the window down fully. Then, from outside, carefully release the top clips, such that the door card can be eased a few centimetres away from the door. Push your hand in between the card and the door and feel for the top of the operating rod. Hold the rod firmly and push it vertically upwards. That will release the latch and the door will open. Don't lock the door again until you have corrected the problem; usually the rod slipping in the white clip.
Hope this helps.
Derek.

Thank you Francophile, I will try that.
Am I looking for this operating rod in the area of the pin/rod that pops up and down through the doorcard ?

link to pictures

ignore the small nuts added to the bar in the first picture as this is a good Arctic modification, yours will not have these fitted.
