Default Central locking remote malfunction

I am posting this to assist anyone who experiences a similar problem.

On arriving at a hotel, the central locking seemed to go into melt down. After several presses on the remote, the doors locked, but then refused to open. When I used the key, the alarm went off. Essentially, everything I tried to fix the fault was unsuccessful. I tried resetting the alarm, disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. Nothing solved the problem.

After scouring the Internet, I found a post which suggested that the problem might be caused by interference from Wi-fi router(s). Whilst having breakfast I established that the hotel employed four routers. As soon as we were out of range, the central locking resumed to operating perfectly.

I hope that this saves you going through the hassle that I experienced.
