Auxiliary heater ?
Haynes manual at end of cooling, heating ventilation section shows Auxiliary heater. Small electric heater that's supposed to supply instant heat from cold into car interior through the heater. Noticed today that this unit is fitted to my 2003 V6 Tourer at rear of heater unit next to bulkhead, passenger side. Has thin yellow, thin yellow/brown thick brown and thick black wires plugged into it. Doesn't appear to work, burnt out maybe, couldn't detect any power getting to it with engine running and heater on hot though.
Do they usually work ? |

Haynes manual is wrong (again) there is no electric heater fitted to any 75/ZT, what they show in the picture is actually the control unit for the interior fan speed.

Re my other post - is there a valve that controls coolant going into heater matrix or does hot coolant go through heater matrix all the time the engine is running and whether you get hot air from heater or not is governed by flap doors ? |

No valves in the heating system coolant is flowing around the matrix all the time and cabin heat is controlled by the blend flaps although you will still get some if the ATC panel is switched off.

Ok,guess my heater matrix must def be partially clogged up then as heater takes an hour to flow hot air into car
