Another ABS light issue
Here's one for you all.
ABS light on, not the front as all speedo etc working. In the last 6mths, car has had both rear bearings, backing plates, calipers and pads changed and rear passenger ABS cable (as T4 said it was bust). No issues for 3mths, random ABS light on start-up, same as before, changed other side rear ABS cable. Nothing, light still on. Connected T4, says both rears are not connected? Unplugged and plugged back in, nothing, same issue. So where next? Try another cable, but what are the chances of one failing and the other being faulty from new? ABS pump? Anyone shine a light on this?

Bought online, one was replaced in June b(Passenger rear) and all had been fine up until maybe end of Jan when the light came back on, so another new one was sourced.
It was through Motor Factors I think, exactly the same as the OEM ones with the blue plug.

I made up an extension cable out of an old ABS plug and socket and some scrap bell-wire so that any sensor could be plugged into the OSF ABS socket and the speedometer used a s a diagnostic. If you do something similar you will soon see if either of the new sensors you have are any good or not.
There are dodgy ones out there. My last car came with 2 brand new sensors and an ABS fault and when tested both sensors were scrap. Here is the cable being used to test a front hub prior to fitting: [IMG][/IMG] |

OK, They may look the same with a Blue connector etc, But they are more than likely Chinese knock offs and faulty. The best thing you can try is a pair of new ones from DGMR on here.
