Hi Steve. In the tenth photo, what is the small black object in the sill towards the rear? Is it a blanking plug? Or is it a breather for the-sill? What was the state of the rear section of the sill where the rear arm is attached?

Hi Dave.
Rear section of the sill where the arm attached to the chassis was and is good, the small black object i think you are referring to is a blanking plug i think but not 100% will have a good luck when i am next under the car.

I asked at quick fit they wanted £126.00 i just laughed and walked away.

Full service before the end of October and car should be ok for another 12 months.

I had mine done at BMTR Perry Barr. Cost was £75. He did remark that he had sprayed some grease onto the bolts at the rear, but said he was surprised that they had come undone so easy.

I used to use BMTR a lot, but went off them after they employed a new ‘salesman’ who gave the impression he’d been to the kwikfit school of up-selling.

FYI... Flaxley Tyres in Stechford have the Hunter kit and are also more sensibly priced.

Kwik Fit does cover it for 2 years of alignment though. So if you're planning on changing tyres at some point or want it realigning every 6 months because of the state of the roads it's not unreasonable.
