September meet I will be sleeping in the saloon with the rear seats dropped, couple of duvet's and a nice soft pillow that's if I don't find me a suitable tent by then as the one I have is too small and freezing cold at night

In the early 1990s I lived in Ramsgate but used to earn a living minicabbing in London on Friday and Saturday nights and I slept under a duvet on a single mattress in the back of a Datsun 180B Estate every weekend for months. I used to sleep like a baby.
Now, I drive an articulated lorry and I spend 4-5 nights away in it every single week, there's only slightly more room in it than in the car (but the mattress is narrower), again I sleep like a baby. I've done this for over 25 years now. Just a quick follow-up to my earlier post, I bought the Rover 75 and sold my Rover 825 last weekend, there was a one-hour window of opportunity to take a photo of both cars together so this is it I had the Rover Sterling for eight years and went all over the UK in it when my kids were growing up so I was terribly sad to see it go, the silver cloud is that it has gone to a restorer so I'm hoping to see it on rallies in the future. There were 8,000 Rover Sterlings made, there are only 200 left now. Source http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/ Thanks for the advice on this forum so far, I've subscribed and I look forward to learning about my new Rover 75 here but I'll also try to pass on best advice about anything else I have experience of- slumming it in vehicles for example. OP, Just do it! |
