MK 2 75 Headlamp lens removal
Hi is there a thread regarding the removal of the lenses on a 75 so I can replace them, think these are to far gone to polish.

Unless the lenses are damaged, they are never too far gone to polish!

I'd try polishing first, do it the "old school" way, more aggressive than polishing kits. Get a variety of grades of wet/dry from course to very fine. Use it wet starting with course, work through the grades and finally polish with a cutting compound. Its hard work but well worth the effort.
This will give you an idea how to restore using wet/dry. Last edited by stevestrat; 29th October 2017 at 16:03.. |

I've had some really bad ones here before, so bad that you couldn't see through the lens at all, but after a good refurbishment they came up nice and clear
To remove the headlight lenses get yourself a box that the headlight fits into with the lid shut. Cut a hole in one side of the box big enough to poke a hairdryer through. place the headlight inside the box and heat for 5 to 10 mins, the lens will then just peal right off |
