Clyde, you won’t get what your asking for Wurzel here. You might get it elsewhere through one of the Car classic magazines.

In 2014 I was offered a load of dosh for the V6 at the POL and when I wrote it up, Brian made a negative comment about it which I blanked.

I have met Brian a couple of times over years and off screen, he is one of the nicest guys you’d want to meet. His style is direct and some of it is northern banter. It’s not pompous, unlike some I could mention If you are stuck with a problem no one else can help with, he will do his best to solve it.

Can you not do what I did and give his comments about your car a blank?

If I may suggest Clyde, by all means have some time out and use the time to grow a Rhino hide as it pays to be thick skinned

Should you leave the club over this Clyde, you will regret it. Remember how you must have felt proud to represent the club at the NEC, feelings worth holding onto

Chin up

You think this was a full, frank and occasionally abrasive exchange of views? You HAVE led sheltered lives.

Put on your flak jacket and come and join the "Why do KV6 thermostat assemblies fail?" debate on the tech thread!

As an unbiased guy, simply because I haven't met anyone on this forum other than Bigruss. I think many of the points made by people involved in this conversation are valid.

But to leave the forum because other people don't view your car the same way that you do??? Surely these comments aren't the only ones you have had about your car? Just owning a Rover or MG should have made you thick skinned by now? I even get flak from my wife!

I don't know Paul d but look at what happened to him recently when he asked us why did we think his car wasn't selling. Paul had done an incredible amount of work on his car, a labour of love! In his mind, that car would have been the best available. We pointed out this and that, and the mileage etc etc. Paul must have been gutted to read what other people thought about his pride and joy.

Paul d is still here! Paul moved to plan B, well done that man! He didn't leave the forum and disappear because we viewed his car differently.

Sorry for using you as an example Paul.

Paul? Paul? has he left the forum

Default MG and Rover

All the above points are noted, we as a group would never buy into the now defunct brand if we wished to recoup all our spent time and hard earned. Having purchased what started out as a cheap MG ZT diesel it now owes me more than it’s selling price and it’s still not mot’d ! Why do we do it it’s because we love the brand and build plus you need to be mad as well.

Sadly you can’t asked for all your spent cash back on what’s been a labour of love it’s all part and parcel of ownership of any car not just a 75. To spit your dummy out over a few comments regarding your stunning car is a touch over the top. If we all took others comments to heart we would all become reclusive.

We all have opinions even my wife has asked why the hell are you buying and spending more money on that car again you have 2 others as well, me well it gets me out of the house from free time.

Stay on the club it’s great Clyde but if you move I wish you well and good luck selling what is a special car.
