Default Volumetric Alarm Sensor YWC 112250

I have the battery backup alarm system with the volumetric sensor in the headlining when I had my car broke into last year the alarm didn’t sound I think it’s because this item is faulty but I just want to check the fuse first. Does anyone know which fuse this would be linked to?

I've tried buying 2 used sensors off eBay but alarm still does not sound when you put your hand in the car with it armed. It makes a noise if you unlock the doors with the button on the centre console.

Whats the best way forward with this?

Does the BBUS (alarm siren) work? I've had a dead BBUS before. To check the alarm, open the bonnet, hold the bonnet switch down, lock the car with the remote, give it 30 seconds or so then release the bonnet switch, alarm should sound. Be ready to hit the open button on the remote quick, the BBUS, if its working is LOUD! If the BBUS is dead the only clue you'll get that the alarm has triggered is the indicators will flash.

I'm wondering if I've just been unlucky and got a couple of dud units. I see there are some new-old stock on eBay might give that a go unless anyone has any other ideas.

Sorry I can't advise on this - I retrofitted the volumetric sensor and did a How-To but haven't had any issues.

Please let us know on the outcome.

Might be a silly question but have you checked the sensor is connected-up ?
I know of a number of people , myself included in the past , who have disconnected it because it was always going off
